On Sunday, 3 May 2026, 20 players from the 2026 World Cup qualifying protocol were on the schedule, and the day’s central story is Haris Tabaković. The Mönchengladbach striker scored late for a big win over Dortmund and once again showed he can decide big matches when it matters most. There was also special focus on the Austrian derby Salzburg – Sturm, a direct battle near the top of the table in which three of our players featured, while Arjan Malić missed out through injury. Other key storylines: Tarik Muharemović and Sassuolo claimed a major win over Milan, Ivan Bašić missed a late penalty for Astana, and Borac mathematically secured the BiH league title with four rounds still to play.
- Nikola Vasilj — St. Pauli – Mainz 1:2 (Bundesliga, Germany, matchday 32). He played the full 90 minutes in a defeat to Mainz, who had already gone 0:2 up in the first half. Ceesay scored in the 87th minute to give St. Pauli hope, but they could not find an equaliser. Vasilj made three saves in the match. With this defeat St. Pauli dropped to 17th place, which means direct relegation. They now have a tense survival fight in the final two rounds.
- Martin Zlomislić — Lokomotiva – Rijeka 0:3 (HNL, matchday 33). He kept a clean sheet in Rijeka’s convincing away win over Lokomotiva. Amer Gojak provided two assists for Rijeka. Rijeka are fourth, and this win moved them to within one point of third-placed Varaždin, who lost to Hajduk.
- Jusuf Gazibegović — Salzburg – Sturm Graz 1:1 (Bundesliga, Austria, matchday 30). He was one of three of our players to feature in this match and the only one to play from start to finish. He delivered a strong performance, battled directly with Alajbegović, and received a yellow card late on. Salzburg led from the 22nd minute through Vertessen, but let the win slip. Kayombo equalised for Sturm in the third minute of stoppage time.
- Adrian Leon Barišić — Braga – Estoril 1:1 (Liga Portugal, matchday 32). He will be out for the rest of the season due to injury. Braga led 1:0 through Dorgeles in the 23rd minute but failed to hold the advantage. Begraoui scored for Estoril in the 79th minute. Braga now turn their focus to Thursday’s game against Freiburg, where they will try to protect the first-leg lead and reach the Europa League final.
- Stjepan Radeljić — Lokomotiva – Rijeka 0:3 (HNL, matchday 33). He played very well in central defence and, together with Zlomislić, helped deliver an important win for Rijeka. Radeljić’s contract expires at the end of the season, and many media outlets report that he will join Dinamo Zagreb next season.
- Tarik Muharemović — Sassuolo – AC Milan 2:0 (Serie A, Italy, matchday 35). He played an excellent game for Sassuolo in a win over favoured Milan. Sassuolo took the lead as early as the 5th minute through veteran Berardi. Milan’s Tomori received a second yellow in the 24th minute, so Sassuolo played with a man advantage for the rest of the match. They confirmed the win with Lauriente’s goal in the 47th minute. Sassuolo are enjoying a solid season and sit 10th in Serie A with 49 points. Milan are third with 67 and are focused on securing a top-four finish and Champions League football next season. Three rounds remain.
- Arjan Malić — Salzburg – Sturm Graz 1:1 (Bundesliga, Austria, matchday 30). He missed the derby between our internationals due to injury.
- Eman Košpo — AS Roma – Fiorentina 4:0 (Serie A, Italy, matchday 35). He was not in the squad as Fiorentina suffered a heavy away defeat in Rome.
- Emir Karić — Salzburg – Sturm Graz 1:1 (Bundesliga, Austria, matchday 30). Like Gazibegović, he started the match and came off in the 73rd minute for Geyrhofer. LASK took advantage of Salzburg and Sturm dropping points and moved to first place, two points ahead of Sturm and four clear of Salzburg.
- Dino Beširović — Elfsborg – AIK Stockholm 1:1 (Allsvenskan, Sweden, matchday 6). He missed AIK’s third straight match due to injury. The goals came in the 8th and 9th minutes: Sigurpallsson scored first for Elfsborg, and Yohanna equalised for AIK. AIK dropped to ninth with eight points from six rounds.
- Haris Hajradinović — Kasımpaşa – Kocaelispor 1:1 (Süper Lig, Turkey, matchday 32). Kasımpaşa took a valuable point without the injured Hajradinović. They are 13th with 32 points. In the next round they play a key survival match against Gençlerbirliği, who have 28 points and are 16th, in the relegation zone.
- Dario Šarić — Antalyaspor – Alanyaspor 0:0 (Süper Lig, Turkey, matchday 32). Antalyaspor played out a goalless draw with Alanyaspor. This point moved them out of the danger zone to 29 points, one more than Gençlerbirliği. Dario Šarić played the final 15 minutes for the home side. Two rounds remain in Turkey and the survival battle is set to be very tight.
- Ivan Bašić — Kaspij Aktau – FC Astana 1:0 (Premier League, Kazakhstan, matchday 8). Astana lost 1:0 away to Kaspij in round eight of the Kazakh league. The hosts won through a late Anuarov own goal in stoppage time. Astana had played with ten men from the 18th minute, when Kasym saw a straight red card. Ivan Bašić played the full match and missed a big chance to put his team ahead from the penalty spot in the 84th minute. For us, the key point remains that he converted his penalty in the play-off against Wales.
- Armin Gigović — Lugano – Young Boys 1:0 (Super League, Switzerland, matchday 35). He played 80 minutes in Young Boys’ defeat to Lugano. Steffen scored the winner in the 84th minute. Young Boys are now five games without a win and sit sixth with little chance of climbing. Three rounds remain.
- Dženis Burnić — Karlsruher – Darmstadt 2:1 (2. Bundesliga, Germany, matchday 32). He came on for Karlsruher in the 77th minute at 1:1. Nine minutes later, Fukuda scored the winner for his side. Karlsruher are eighth with 43 points, while Darmstadt lost any realistic chance of promotion to the Bundesliga and remain fifth with 51 points.
- Ivan Šunjić — Apollon – Pafos 2:1 (Cyprus League, Cyprus, matchday 32). He played the full match for Pafos in the loss to Apollon and received a yellow card in the 9th minute.
- Kerim Alajbegović — Salzburg – Sturm Graz 1:1 (Bundesliga, Austria, matchday 30). He played for Salzburg until the 80th minute, when Yeo replaced him at 1:0. He did not register a goal or assist.
- Luka Menalo — Sarajevo – Borac Banja Luka 0:1 (Liga BiH, matchday 32). He played until the 79th minute, when Kyeremeh replaced him, in Sarajevo’s defeat to Borac. Juričić scored the winner for Borac in the 35th minute. Sarajevo went down to ten men in the 70th minute when Joao Carlos was sent off. With this win, Borac secured the BiH league title as many as four rounds before the end. Sarajevo stayed third on 55 points.
- Haris Tabaković — Borussia Monchengladbach – Borussia Dortmund 1:0 (Bundesliga, Germany, matchday 32). He played a fantastic match against Dortmund and ended his run without a goal. The first half ended 0:0, and Tabaković had the best chance when he met a cross from close range, but Dortmund’s goalkeeper made the save. In the second half, just when it looked set to finish goalless, Haris got behind the away defence in the 88th minute and scored from Reitz’s assist for a huge win. The goal was initially disallowed for offside, but after a VAR review it stood. Tabaković received a yellow card for taking off his shirt, then came off in stoppage time. With this win, the home side secured survival, while Dortmund remained second behind Bayern. This was Haris’s 12th goal of the season, one more than Demirović.
- Luka Kulenović — Zwolle – Heracles 1:0 (Eredivisie, matchday 32). He played the full 90 minutes for Heracles in the away defeat at Zwolle. He stays on five league goals this season.
